Aby The Liberal Statistics for June 2007

Dmitri July 1st, 2007

The traffic statistics for this site has been updated to reflect the month of June 2007 and what it brought to this site. We have had a few changes and surprises as compared to May. We had the highest traffic on a single day at this month on June 20th, 2007 for the post Who Will Hang The Knight Sir Salman Rushdie? made by Maggie. Majority of the hits were from Stumbleupon followed by Google and Netscape.

Record high 883 Pageviews on June 20th of this month (Click on image to enlarge)

The high page views and visits of June 20th were followed by a rise in the number of visits per day, as we seemed to have made quite a few loyal readers and subscribers. We also had a lot of new and unique visitors, more than the previous months thanks to loyal Google and Digg searches. We have made the first page in Google for most relevant terms in the first month of opening this site; now we have made the top ranks in Google on a majority of the popular political and military search terms as can be checked in the main statistics page. The Sex Tourism and Child Prostitution post led to quite a number of visits mainly from people who search for ‘child sex cambodia’, ’sex tourism bangkok’ and the like which gave the post a bit of popularity, perhaps unwanted. We would love to be rated as an authority on military and political affairs in Google yes, sex tourism no. Speaking of authority Aby The Liberal has gone up from a Technorati authority of 1 in first month to an authority of 4.

In the browser war, Mozilla Firefox topped on June 2007 for this site with 55.5% of visitors using the best browser available, it showed an impressive rise from May’s 29.5%. Internet Explorer fell from 49.7% to 34.9% while Apple’s Safari disappearing from the top three with 1.1% against last month’s 8.2% notwithstanding that Safari Beta has been released for Windows users. Windows still rules the operating system of choice with 83.2 % using it while Apple Mac OSX has shown a decline from 19.5% to 6.3%. Linux’s share increased with 6.5% using different flavours of it, Ubuntu and Debian being the most popular.

As of the last two months, United States remains the country where our largest visitor base come from, with an increase to 50.80% of June from 39.59% of May, possibly because of its large English speaking population and internet user base. France dropped off from the 10.60% to 1.2% as there is no more talks about French politics and elections after it got over. Surprisingly Russia didn’t show up in the top results despite all discussions about Russia, perhaps the language barrier has something to do with it. United Kingdom comes second at 8.20% followed by Canada at 7.22%. A surprise entrant in the top four countries was China, surprise because we expected this site to be blocked and there to be language barriers. Lot of surprised for a month.
