CIA Declassifies Old Crimes To Distract From New Crimes

Aby June 24th, 2007

The world citizens including a lot of sane Americans know what the CIA is up to around the globe. On the other side we have the extremist a.k.a conservative Americans who have a staunch faith, that whatever CIA does in the world is ethical and ‘right’ from a moral and human ground. Perhaps it is time for those people to get a rude shock about what their ‘law enforcement’ spying agencies are up to around the globe. If the high rate of CIA busting and executions in Russia (ex-USSR) and China didn’t wake them up, this should.

The CIA, on 22nd June 2007 proposed to declassify hundreds of pages of long secret records detailing some of their shady activities around the world (including USA) from the 1950s to the 1970s. The documents will reveal the details of thousands of assassination plots, abductions, drug running, tortures and killings around the world in these two decades. Full details of the proposed declassification can be had here. Knowing the CIA, only the most obvious incidents in the public eye - like putting Saddam to power in Iraq, drug running in Golden Triangle, etc. will come to light. The unknown will remain unknown as usual. The only plausible reason they are giving a little bit of the decade old crime details is to distract the world from the newer crimes of the CIA, for example the recent trial in Italy (check below).

Maybe we will still have a few (or more) extremist Americans justify all these or make claims that ‘the CIA is different today from what it was in 1970s‘. In that case we could simply remind them that the same attitude prevailed in the 1970s among Americans after the formation of world’s drug trade hub, the Golden Triangle by the CIA. A more recent eye-opener incident would be the 26 CIA officials wanted by the law in Italy in the abduction and torture case of an innocent gentleman Osama Nasr Mostafa Hassan. The Egyptian cleric’s only offence was having a name and look similar to that of a global hit terrorist. Perhaps, to extremist Americans such a cause is enough for a person to warrant torture and abduction, to the rest of the world it is a crime…

We could take a lesson to take care of ourselves if an American is around. Who knows we might be abducted by aliens who take form of tourists calling themselves CIA.

Time magazine had quite a different take on why the information is being released.

Bastard CIA, all of them should be abducted and tortured at the hands of those who were wrongfully accused of terrorism by the idiotic agency, then cut their head off, place them in a mail box, and send it to Bush.
