I am utterly shocked that this is proposed as a solution. With the extreme corruption we see in the ineffective UN, it would simply follow that the larger the government, the larger the abuse of power, and the more suffering it will cause. Human beings are inherently greedy and prone to power trips and corruption. Without any form of checks and balances, nothing good will become of it. When the UN has been called to action they are only a useless paper tiger. Ah the UN...so wonderful!

We have seen what gigantic 'of the state' institutions have provided us...Stalin, Mao, etc. have made wonderful contributions to humanity. I am not calling the US flawless. With all of its faults, I would have it no other way. Any sort of collective government organization is inherently threatened by individual will, and due to the threat of the individual the collective would try to stamp out the 'bad elements'.

I have to agree 100% with your view on the UN and world government. I think to much authority is generally a bad thing. There is also always going to be a majority that seeks to control and have more power than the minority. Peoples ideologies are too diverse, etc.

So whats good for US is not good for the rest of the world?

Eventually I think its inevitable.

Although probably not for a while, redistributing wealth?

1 vote per person

if its tried too soon? mayhem and revolution

can we learn to live on this planet, do we continue to evolve, or are we doomed?
